(FOX40.COM) — California Assembly member Cottie Petrie-Norris (D-Irvine) joined Inside California Politics co-host Nikki Laurenzo to discuss the special session on gas price spikes.

Asm. Petrie-Norris is the chair of the committee charged with studying the causes of gas price spikes in California during the special session called by Governor Gavin Newsom.

The Assembly is expected to consider a bill to mandate minimum fuel reserves for oil refiners here in California this fall. State Senate President Pro Tem Mike McGuire told the Los Angeles Times he would convene the Senate only after the Assembly passes their version of that bill.

Have Newsom take his boot of the neck of the oil industry. *Do away with the special blend *Promote more refineries within CA*Lower the gas tax at the pump*Stop the funds for the train to nowhere *Charge electric cars road tax
