BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — An Oregon man was killed after a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 near Stockdale Highway early Thursday morning.

Officials with the California Highway Patrol said officers were dispatched to I-5 near Stockdale Highway for the report of a single-vehicle rollover around 2:59 a.m.

In a release, CHP said a 55-year-old man from Keizer, Oregon was driving a tractor trailer on southbound I-5 at an unknown speed.

Investigators said the man made an unsafe turning movement and the vehicle left the roadway. The international tractor-trailer then overturned on its right-hand side and blocked the number one lane.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials say drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
