Dagny’s Coffee Company vandalized again

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — At the corner of 20th and Eye streets since 1996, Dagny’s Coffee Company is where many people start their day.

Staff had a rough start Thursday morning, coming to find one large front window completely shattered.

Staff member, Jett Warren, was the first to get to Dagny’s at 6:30 a.m.

“As far as what I was told, there were these two young men in bicycles that came in about 30 minutes before I was here and opened,” said Warren. “They broke the window, hopped in and then they pretty much left because the alarms scared them off. They were in and out of here, they didn’t even take anything. They tried to rob us but they didn’t succeed.”

The tip jar was taken off the counter and smashed on the ground, however no tips were in it.

Warren says in the year he has worked there, they’ve had to replace around three windows from break ins.

Fortunately, nothing major has been stolen from the store, according to Warren.
