BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Bikers from all over the state rode into town, to show up for a fellow rider. After hospitalized biker Rose Jamie recorded her chilling crash live depicting her, slamming into the back of a car that pulled in front of her. A crash other riders said they have never seen anyone recover from.

“Nobody comes from an accident at 70 miles an hour on a freeway and lives to tell about it, nobody,” said Fresno biker James Velandria. “My heart was broken when I heard about it and when I found out she was okay I was just filled with joy.”

This drove all those who know her to Kern Medical to wave and get a glance at her from her hospital room, pray for her, and sing spiritual songs to lift her spirits.

“You have led me through the fire in the darkest night you are there like no other,” sang one rider.

Chris Current was there during the collision and said the past few days have been a whirlwind.

“I seen everything, and I thought she was gone,” said Current.

Jamie’s beloved motorcycle was severely damaged after the crash, but Current said he thought he lost his friend.

“I can’t believe that she is waving at everybody when I thought she was dead it’s all the Lord, it’s all the Lord,” said Current.

17 News spoke to Jamie on the phone from her hospital bed, and she said she couldn’t be more grateful for the support.

“I love y’all and I’ll be back out there again. This right here means something to me I’ve never felt so much love more than I do right now. I feel loved,” said Jamie on the phone.

And it didn’t stop there, after Jamie recovers, she will get a fresh start on a new gifted bike.

“This is what the biker community is about this is what we do, we love each other and everything that we do we do together as one,” said Velandria.

Jamie is still on the road to recovery, but when she does, she said she looks forward to getting back on the open road.
