The high for Bakersfield on Friday the 13th reached 90°, slightly below the average of 92° for this time of year. Expect even hotter temperatures for Saturday, with low to mid 90s on top for many current county locations.

A cool down will begin on Sunday as a low-pressure system approaches the region, bringing cooler air and the slight possibility of showers for Monday, then again on Wednesday of next week.

The coolest day of the workweek will be Monday with temperatures in the low 70s. The last week of summer will look more like fall around our area, with comfortable 70s and 80s throughout. Air quality will be moderate on Saturday.
