    California 22nd Congressional District Debate: How to watch

    BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Two candidates eager to win one of the most contested seats in the U.S. House of Representatives will take to the debate stage on Oct. 2 in a bid to get your vote.

    The debate hosted by Nexstar’s KGET and KGPE will be held in Bakersfield. The candidates — David Valadao and Rudy Salas — will debate live exclusively from the KGET TV studios on Oct. 2 between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. The debate will also be streamed live on KGET.com and the KGET 17 News app.

    Showdown in the Central Valley: The Battle for the 22nd Congressional District

    The race for California’s 22nd Congressional District between Rep. David Valadao (R-Hanford) and challenger Rudy Salas (D-Bakersfield) is likely to be one of the tightest in the country, and could determine which party will control the House of Representatives.

    The debate is the first and only scheduled debate between the two candidates.

    The debate will air on Nexstar television stations covering California’s Central Valley: KGET-TV in Bakersfield and KGPE-TV in Fresno.
