Part of 18th Street in to close for The Hub of Bakersfield event

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A section of 18th Street between R and V streets will be partially closed on Saturday, Sept. 28, for an event hosted by The Hub of Bakersfield , according to city officials.

The closure will be in effect from 1p.m. to 11 p.m. to accommodate activities at the Sister City Venue at Mill Creek.

The event, designed to bring attention to the park’s upcoming revitalization, will feature food from Bakersfield restaurants, cocktails, live music, dancing, and various form of entertainment.

Officials encouraged drivers and motorists to plan alternate routes and avoid the area to reduce traffic congestion.
