BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A live musical performance was held at Bakersfield College Thursday evening, courtesy of the U.S. Marines Brass Quartet.

Bakersfield College was full of music lovers and Marines Sept. 26 as the U.S. Marines Brass Quartet gave a live performance at the Veterans Resource Center. The performance was held from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

“We’re just here to spread awareness about the Marine Corps and talk to people about the great opportunities that we have available in the Marine Corps”, said Captain Christopher Bixby. “A lot of people don’t know that we have a Marine Corps band and that’s a career they could pursue if they wanted to be a performing musician.”

The U.S. Marines Brass Quartet has been working with the music department at BC and regularly performs at ceremonies and events. Leaders say it’s a great opportunity to show people a different facet of the Marine Corps.
