BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern River Multi-use Trail is set to be closed temporarily due to third-party organization projects.

The bike path will be closed just east of Mohawk Street and just south of the service road near Truxtun Avenue, on Sept. 30 due to the California Geologic Energy Management Division working in the area, according to city officials.

The closure is scheduled to start at 6 a.m. City officials say the work may require a week to complete.

The bike path between Golden State Highway and the 24th Street entrance at Oak Street is scheduled to be closed on Oct. 8 as PG&E will be moving equipment.

The work is scheduled to be completed on Oct. 14.
