Shafter Lions Club to host National Night Out at Veterans Park on Oct. 8

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Shafter Lions Club will host its annual National Night Out event on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024 at Veterans Park in Shafter.

The event is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and aims to strength the relationships between the community and local law enforcement agencies through activities, and family-friendly fun.

Several local agenicies will participate, including the FBI, Shafter Police Department, Bakersfield Police Department, and Kern County Sheriff`s Crime Prevention Unit. Other participants include the California Highway Patrol, Kern High School District Police, and police departments from Wasco, Arvin, Delano, and McFarland.

Emergency services will be representing by the Kern County Fire Department and Hall Ambulance, Kern County Park Rangers. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), CDCR SWAT and K9 units, Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC), California Department of Fish & Game, and the Kern County District Attorney Office will also be present.
