    Posey man killed in solo vehicle crash on Granite Rd. near Glenville

    BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A Posey man is dead following a solo-vehicle crash on Granite Road near Glenville, Tuesday afternoon.

    The crash happened at 3 p.m. on Granite Road, just south of highway 155, on Oct. 1., according to the California Highway Patrol.

    Investigators said the Posey man behind the wheel of a Ford, was traveling northbound on Granite Road when he veered off the road due to an unknown medical condition.

    The Ford crashed through a barbed wire fence, and came to rest in a dirt and grass field.

    Kern County Fire Department found the driver unresponsive in the driver’s seat and pronounced the 52-year-old man dead at the scene.

    The driver’s identity will be released by the coroners office at a later time.

    It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash. Officials are asking any witnesses in the area with information about the collision to call CHP Public Information Officer, Officer Jorge Toro at 661-396-6600.
