    CulturaFest set to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in Bakersfield

    BAKERSFIELD, Calif, (KGET) — Raices of Kern, in partnership with Delta Zeta Tau Fraternity, Youth 2 Leaders, Spanish Radio Group, and community sponsors, will host CulturaFest on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Beach Park.

    The event will begin from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., which is free and open to public. It aims to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by showcasing Latin American food, music and culture.

    Organizers encourage families and community members to join and experience the cultural richness of the local Hispanic community.

    Raices of Kern, a 501(c)(3) (Welfare Exemption) non-profit, focuses on empowering Latino students to pursue higher education and increasing the number of college graduates in Kern County.

    During its Inaugural event, the group raised $11,000, which was donated to Youth 2 Leaders Education Foundation. The funds were used to support scholarships and educational resources for local youth.
