    ‘No imminent threat’ at American Elementary

    UPDATE: Officials with the Rosedale Union School District said threats made to American Elementary School Thursday morning were determined to be a part of a nationwide hoax and not credible.

    The lockdown at the school has been lifted. Law enforcement will remain on campus and in the area for the day, according to school district officials.


    BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Officials with the Rosedale Union School District confirmed there is “no imminent threat” at American Elementary School after the school received a threatening phone call Thursday morning.

    Officials with the district say the school received an anonymous phone call threatening a school shooting at 11 a.m. Police were called and an investigation is ongoing.

    Police determined there is no imminent threat at the school.

    Officials say the school will remain on a community lockdown with students safely in their classrooms.

    The investigation is ongoing.
