Kern County Sheriff’s Office previews ‘Your Badge Awaits’ hiring event series in Ridgecrest

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is hiring and those interested have a chance to earn their badge.

Lori Meza and Senior Deputy Williams with KCSO joined 17 News at Noon to discuss a string of hiring events in October.

• Oct. 10, at the Ridgecrest Branch Library located on 131 E. Las Flores Ave. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with onsite testing beginning at noon.
• Oct. 24, at the Kerr McGee Center located on 100 W. California Ave. This event in Ridgecrest will run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
• Oct. 24, at Cerro Coso Community College located at 3000 College Heights Boulevard. The time for this event is to be determined.
• Oct. 30, at America’s Job Center located at 540 W. Perdew Ave. This event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with onsite testing beginning at 10 a.m.

Meza also said the department will hold a Halloween Trunk-or-treat on Oct. 25, at Kerr McGee Center, located at 100 W. California Ave. in Ridgecrest. This event will run from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
