Decomposed body found near high school in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Bakersfield police officers were directed to a human body found near Vista High School on Thursday.

On Oct. 2, the Bakersfield Police Department was notified of a possible human body discovered by the athletic fields near Vista High School, at 200 P Street. When officers arrived on scene at about 4:30 p.m., they were directed to a body that was significantly decomposed and were unable to determine the age or identity of the victim.

The Kern County Coroner’s Office took possession of the case and will identify the deceased at a later time.

This is an active investigation.
