Golden Empire Transit appoints new CEO

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Golden Empire Transit appointed the interim CEO as the transit service’s new CEO.

Officials with the transit service say Chris James was appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer after Michael Tree was fired in June. James has been serving as the interim CEO since then.

James has been with GET for 40 years and he has demonstrated commitment to the transit service, according to officials. He aims to foster innovation and growth to meet the city’s needs.

The board appointed James with four ayes and one absent.
