    2 dead in murder-suicide in southwest Bakersfield home

    BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Two women are dead after a murder-suicide early Sunday morning in southwest Bakersfield, according to Bakersfield police.

    Detectives were dispatched to a residence in the 7500 block of Lordsburg Drive, just east of Gosford Road, to check the welfare of a resident around 3 a.m.

    When detectives entered the home, they found two adult women dead inside the home. According to BPD’s preliminary investigation, the incident appears to be a murder-suicide.

    The coroner’s office will release both women’s identities at a later time. The investigation is ongoing.

    Anyone with information on regarding the incident is asked to call BPD at 661-327-7111.
