Some of the theories for the origins of the monstrous <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Driskill_Hotel">Romanesque style house of hospitality</a> is how that money was earned by selling large amounts of his cattle stock to the Confederacy during the American Civil War, so it is believe to be blood money.</p><p>The Driskill did experience early struggles, and went through a period of closure.
