    UPDATE (5:00):

A school official with the Vail School District has confirmed a threatening message was found in the bathroom at Andrada Polytechnic High School.

The official said they are determining who used the bathroom at the time and that PCSD is investigating.

A shelter in place was put into place after the discovery. Around 2:00 p.m. the order was lifted and school resumed to normal activity the official said.

TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — Compass High School, East 22nd Street and Sarnoff Drive, confirmed with KGUN 9 students were sent home from campus Wednesday morning due to social media threats.

The school's principal, Kerk Ferguson says classes were just minutes away from starting when they were notified of a threat made on Facebook against the high school.

According to spokespeople at the school, there was not an active situation. Police said that after the initial response, the threat does not appear credible, and possibly part of a previous threat.

Wednesday's threat comes on the tail of several school threats against multiple Tucson school districts in recent days.

Ferguson says while these online threats have been circulating, it was still important to take this very seriously.

“We want to be super precautious," Ferguson said. "We take our students’ safety very very seriously and so even though this threat may have been used a lot, we wanted to make sure that we were taking the precautions.”

School spokespeople say students were released to parents and guardians who could pick them up Wednesday morning. If parents were unable to pick up students this morning, the school says staff provided transportation after receiving verbal confirmation from parents regarding dropoffs.

Classes are scheduled to resume as normal on Thursday.

we'll start making life tough for these little kids who think they're big bad asses! then you'll see some action as far as them stopping this behavior. you let this go on too long and too far and of course they're going to keep pushing it across the line further and further. put a stop to it you have the control of it you have SRO officers arrest them throw them in juvenile let him see a judge and prosecute to full extent of law and on top of that hold their parents responsible too for not raising their kids to be decent human beings
