Ready or not, prep football teams from Hawaii will play some of the best team the country has to offer this week.

On Friday, three time defending state champion Kahuku will face defending national champion Bishop Gorman on the road in Las Vegas at 4 p.m. HST.

On Oahu, Punahou will host No. 17 Sierra Canyon of Southern California on Aug. 3.

For Kahuku in particular, the Red Raiders had to grind out a 14-13 win over Saint Louis on Saturday but embraces the challenge of facing Bishop Gorman with less than a week to prepare.

“That’s where we test where we’re at in the nation,” Kahuku star defensive back and receiver Aiden Manutai said. “And this is where we give the colleges a look at how we can compete with the number one. And number two, I would say our guys are ready to display, this is a huge opportunity for us, thanks to our admins for setting this up, this opportunity to showcase ourselves and just put on for Hawaii and put on for Kahuku as well.”
