HONOLLU (KHON2) — Hoops 4 Hawaii, the ambitious 24-hour basketball marathon to raise $40,000 to benefit local children and seniors in June was a big success.

A full 24-hours of basketball was inspired by Roger Dequina and Jordan Kauwe’s experience, they launched Hoops 4 Hawaii last year, aiming to channel their passion for basketball into charitable endeavors.

The 24-hour hoop-a-thon resulted in a check for more than $18,000 to Ronald McDonald House Hawaii and Palama Settlement last week.
