The University of Hawaii women’s soccer team (1-2) opened play in the Outrigger Invitational with a loss to Baylor (2-1) on Wednesday night at the Waipi’o Peninsula Soccer Stadium.

The Rainbow Wahine, played the Bears of the Big XII tough, as true freshman Kennedy Justin, making just her second start at goalkeeper, recorded two saves in the match but was very active at the net.

The lone goal of the match came in the 73rd minute when Callie Conrad scored off of an assist by Tyler Isgrig.

Nine of UH’s 14 shots on goal came in the second half. Nalani Damacion and Zoe Park each had two shots on goal to lead the Rainbow Wahine.

The Lady Bows will return to the field on Thursday against Portland at 7:00 pm. The match will not be televised.

Admission is free for all UH home matches at the Waipi’o Soccer Stadium.
