Hawaii draws Charlotte in Diamond Head Classic

The University of Hawaii men’s basketball team will take on Charlotte in the first round of the Diamond Head Classic in December.

On Thursday, the Diamond Head Classic bracket was revealed, with host Hawaii playing in the fourth and final quarterfinal on Dec. 22 at 6 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center.

All the latest sports news from Hawaii’s sports station

Oregon State, College of Charleston, Loyola-Chicago, Oakland, Nebraska and Murray State are the other teams in the eight-team field.

Hawaii has hosted the tournament on an annual basis since 2009, with the exception of the 2020 season due to COVID-19. The Rainbow Warriors won the tournament for the first time in 2022 and finished fourth in 2023.
