HONOLULU (KHON2) — Nurses at Kapiolani Medical Center may strike for the second time this year. Over Labor Day weekend, they will vote on whether to walk off the job.

If the majority approves the strike, their union will provide the hospital with a 10-day notice.

The nurses previously went on strike for one week in January.

Contract talks have been ongoing since September, with concerns centering primarily on the patient-to-staff ratio.
