    Wahine volleyball beats Texas State in four sets

    The University of Hawai‘i women’s volleyball team improved to 4-1 on the season with a four-set victory over 2023 NCAA tournament team Texas State on Thursday night at SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.

    25-17. 15-25, 25-19, 25-18 were the set scores.

    Reigning Big West Defensive Player of the Week, senior libero Tayli Ikenaga, continued her stellar defensive performance, adding 14 digs and five assists.

    The Rainbow Wahine were firing on all cylinders, with Jacyn Bamis contributing 10 kills and Caylen Alexander posting a double-double with 20 kills, 10 digs, and four blocks.

    Freshman Miliana Sylvester also made an impact with 10 kills, while setter Kate Lang dished out 39 assists, helping lead the Rainbow Wahine to another quality win.

    Hawai‘i will face Oregon State on Friday night in Manoa, followed by a rematch with Texas State on Saturday.
