Amazon launches budget groceries for shoppers looking to save money: Amazon Saver

The cost of everyday goods like groceries is a hot issue on a lot of people’s minds. Consumer goods have risen in price by around 20% across the board over the last few years, putting pressure on many families’ budgets — and pressure on retailers to find ways to lower prices to lure in shoppers who have cut back on much of their discretionary spending of late. Amazon just announced one way they’re making things a little easier: a new line of budget groceries to help Prime members save money.

Amazon Saver will be another one of Amazon’s in-house, private-label brands, offering no-frills items like crackers, cookies, canned items, condiments and pantry staples. Prime members will be able to shop affordable grocery essentials in-store and online — and get an additional 10% off Amazon Saver products, most of which are already priced under $5.

Amazon Saver is a new addition to Amazon’s lineup of affordable, private-label brands. It joins others, like Happy Belly, which have been offering discounted grocery items for years. Prime members can also save on groceries through Amazon’s grocery subscription service. For $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year, they can get unlimited free deliveries on grocery orders over $35 from Whole Foods Market, Amazon Fresh and local grocery and specialty retailers in their area. These Amazon Saver Country Club Crackers are crispy, salty and buttery. Get a 13.7-ounce box for just $2.69.

Amazon Saver Old-Fashioned Oats are formerly Happy Belly Brand, so you can now get a 10-ounce container of this pantry staple for just $3.99.

Amazon Saver French Vanilla Coffee Creamer — formerly the Happy Belly version — is just $3.49 for a 15-ounce container.

Get a 24-ounce bag of roasted, lightly salted almonds from Amazon’s Happy Belly label for just $8.03.

Amazon’s Golden Honey was previously sold by Happy Belly and can now be found under the Amazon Fresh label. Get a 12-ounce bear-shaped bottle for just $3.99.
