First responders started the day responding to an 11 a.m. crash at the intersection of Kalaheo Avenue and Kuukama Street.

Reports said the 65-year-old female rider was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident and suffered minor cuts to her arms.

The rider declined transportation to an emergency room.

During the evening hours, EMS responded to another e-bike versus car crash on South Beretania Street and Keeaumoku Street around 7 p.m.

According to officials, paramedics treated a 37-year-old female rider who was in serious condition due to the crash.

She was later transported to a trauma hospital.

As I have said before, lawmakers have to crackdown on safety and regulations regarding ebikes. Write laws regarding the handling of ebikes and the parents liability. The life you save may be your child's. We need changes now, not tomorrow.

Not to blame in these instances, but e-bikes are so reckless and dangerous. Most young riders disregard bike rules and at the same time, treat them as full fledged motorcycles. Bound to have accidents. This is only the beginning.
