Meet the two candidates for UH President at a public forum near you

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The public will have the opportunity to meet the two finalists for UH President on Maui, Kauai, Big Island and Oahu starting Monday, Sept. 23.

Public events for Wendy Hensel are scheduled on Monday through Wednesday, while public events for Dr. Julian Heilig will run from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2.

Both finalists are scheduled to attend an open house and a moderated public forum in each county. Each forum will be live-streamed for those watching from home and will be posted online.

Those who would like to submit a question can do so in person or through Zoom.

We are asking all members of the UH ʻohana and other stakeholders, along with the general public, to participate in the public events and provide feedback on our finalists. That input will be critical as the regents deliberate and select the next UH President.

Maui & Kauai — Sept. 23

• Open House — UH Maui College, Pilina Events Center from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
• Campus Forum (Zoom available) — Pilina Events Center from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
• Open House — Kauai Community College, Fine Arts Auditorium from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
• Campus Forum (Zoom available) — Fine Arts Auditorium from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Big Island & Oahu — Sept. 24

• Open House — UH Hilo University Classroom Building Room 127 from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
