Despite the University of Hawai’i women’s volleyball team going 0-3 on the road last week, outside hitter Caylen Alexander was named the Big West Offensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.

The Alpharetta, Georgia native tallied 61 kills, averaging 4.69 per set, over three matches. The junior opened the road trip with 23 kills against UNLV, followed by a match-high 20 in a four-set loss to then-No. 8 Texas, marking her third straight match with at least 20 kills.

In Saturday’s match against No. 20 Baylor, Alexander hit .302 with 18 kills over four sets. She also led the team with five aces and recorded 23 digs, notching double-double performances against both UNLV and Baylor.

Alexander continues to lead the Big West with 229 total kills (4.98 per set) and 253.5 points (5.51 per set). Her kills average ranks fourth in NCAA Division I, while her points average ranks sixth.

The Rainbow Wahine (6-4) return to SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center this weekend to open Big West play.

UH will face UC Irvine (6-5) on Friday and Cal State Fullerton (4-6) on Saturday, with both matches set for 7 p.m. and televised on Spectrum OC16. Radio coverage will be provided by ESPN Honolulu.
