HONOLULU (KHON2) — Efforts to remove the Falls of Clyde from Honolulu Harbor could start by the end of this year, according to state officials.

The state has received six proposals for the removal of the historic vessel, which has been drydocked for several years.

A selection committee is scheduled to meet next week to review the bids, with the goal of awarding the contract to the chosen company by the first week of November.

Get that rust bucket out of here! It used to be a marvelous ship to visit and see it in all its glories… but, whoever was responsible for its upkeep, failed. …and failed, miserably. Shameful. And now it’s a rust bucket. That should have never happened. But it has, and now for YEARS there was a weak effort to try and save the ship. That failed, too. Time to sink this beast and let the fish and corals take over.
