HONOLULU (KHON2) – General managers, Vincent Lam and Sophia Lam, stopped by Wake Up 2Day to share all ono details about Island Manapua.

Vincent Lam explains the history of Island Manapua “Well Island Manapua started back in 1980 our family purchased it from the original owners back in 2007. So since then we have been running the show for 17 years.” It has all the comfort foods of Hawai’i from manapuas to pork hash. “Char siu is the original filling of manapua and it is our most popular you can think of char siu as the sweet Chinese BBQ pork,” says Sophia.

Lots of love goes in their food “Our Bao Buns are hand folded each piece we fill the inside with hoisin sauce and with meats these are our two most popular options that we offer which are Peking Duck and the roast pork.”

Vegetarian options are also available with the Half Moon which has water chestnuts and mushrooms.

Tomorrow, Island Manapua will be one of the many vendors at the Night Village Market at Pearlridge Center from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Or you can always swing by their store at 811 Gulick Avenue. They are open daily from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Stay connected with them on Instagram @islandmanapua.
