Tori Anguay de La Cruz, who plays Katherine Blake in Freaky Friday the Musical , joined Living808 to share exciting details about the Hawaii premiere of the show. In partnership with Mo’olelo Studios and Sacred Hearts Academy, the musical adaptation of the beloved Disney movie wraps up its final weekend of performances at Mamiya Theatre.

Freaky Friday tells the heartwarming and humorous story of a mother and daughter who magically swap bodies, learning valuable lessons about family, love, and understanding as they try to reverse the switch. According to de La Cruz, “It’s an energy-packed, fun, and timely family show about walking in someone else’s shoes.”

The production has posed challenges, particularly in the demanding roles of Katherine Blake and her daughter, Ellie. “The music is epic, and we’re in almost every scene,” shared de La Cruz. Despite the fast-paced nature of the show, the cast and crew are up for the challenge, with the help of high-tech sets and special effects.

With four performances remaining—Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m., and matinees on Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m.—families still have a chance to catch the show at St. Louis High School’s Mamiya Theatre in Kaimuki. A special promotional code, KHON50, offers 50% off tickets.

Don’t miss the chance to experience this heartwarming and energetic musical!
