Hawaii soccer prevails over Cal State Fullerton

The University of Hawaii soccer team earned a historic win over Cal State Fullerton, triumphing 1-0 over the Titans at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium on Sunday.

Hawaii improved to 8-6 overall and 4-0 in Big West Conference play, getting off to its best conference start in program history.

UH, which entered Sunday winners of five in a row , extended that winning streak to six, giving the program its largest winning streak since 2003.

Amber Gilbert broke a scoreless tie in the 57th minute, scoring her first goal of the season to lead UH to victory.

Hawaii will hit the road again and face UC San Diego on Thursday at 4 p.m. HST.
