“Oh, my little bradah, had a love for singing, love for play sports. He love for dance. Any time you see this guy, he smile. They’re having a bad day. Just look at this guy, and he just instantly smile. It’s just his aura he had around him was just too pure for this world, I guess, and then, God, just called him,” stated Karlos Otto, Kashka’s brother.

It was just another day at work for Kashka until an argument with a customer over furniture turned deadly. The Honolulu Police Department (HPD) reported the argument ensued when the suspect called Kashka a derogatory name.

“Reportedly, Victim One punched the suspect who in turn stabbed Victim One and Victim Two,” said HPD Detective Lt. Deena Thoemmes. “Victim Two attempted to help when he was stabbed as well.”

According to the medical examiner, Kashka died of a stab wound to the abdomen. He was 22-years-old.

“They’re saying that he punched him. Kashka would never. Not our Kashka. The Kashka that we know, we raised, we love. Not him. Oh, he never did anything to hurt anybody,” said Kelsey. “No matter what, the truth will prevail. The guy who did whatever he did, he will get what is coming to him. Justice will be served for Kashka.”

Former co-workers remember Kashka as a “soft and nurturing, loving person,” per Keaka Barrozo.

“I was like, ‘No, it couldn’t be him,’ because I don’t know, to me, these type of situations, all of these things, it always happens to the people that it shouldn’t happen to,” said Barrozo. “It’s very hard to talk about him because, every time I would see him, he’d always have a smile on his face. Kashka didn’t deserve it. He was just too nice of a guy for that.”

Loved ones said it didn’t matter how long or short of time you knew him. Kashka always left his mark of kindness.

“Now we got to pick up pieces that we still are trying to pick up. Yeah, it can take some time, but we gonna get through,” said Karlos.
