HONOLULU (KHON2) — Waimanalo Country Farms, a beloved family destination on the east side, has launched its fall harvest season, marking over 75 years of agricultural tradition.

General Manager Cheyenne Adams-Kadooka joined WakeUp2Day’s Chris Latronic for a live segment from the farm, sharing details about this year’s festival and a variety of family-friendly activities.

Originally established in 1948 by Gee Chong Wong, his brother Tuckee Wong, and their late brother Ronald K.S. Wong, the farm, formerly known as Golden Melon Farm, has remained a family-run operation across six generations. The farm expanded over the years as neighboring farms ceased operations, allowing the Wong family to cultivate their land and uphold their legacy of “planting good seeds on good ground.”

The farm is particularly famous for its pumpkin patch, which was introduced in 2010, along with vibrant sunflower fields and a new honey production initiative with on-site bees.

The farm is open for visits from September 28 through November 9, operating seven days a week. Daytime events require no reservations and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. However, reservations are necessary for picnics and after-hour photo sessions. Due to limited parking, guests may need to park off-site on busy days.

Admission prices vary by day and age group. Monday through Thursday, kama’aina and military members pay $6 to $10, while general admission ranges from $7 to $12. Weekend rates increase, with kama’aina and military paying $12, and general admission costing up to $15. Children under 2 enter for free.

Pricing includes access to sunflower fields, pumpkin patch photo opportunities, a kid activity zone, and hayrides when available. Additional attractions include a kids cow train ride for $5 and animal feeding experiences.
