    Search continues for missing Anahola woman

    HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Kauai Police Department (KPD) is seeking the public’s help in locating Benetta Kaiwi, a 47-year-old woman from Anahola, reported missing after her vehicle was discovered unattended near Lumahai Beach on October 7.

    Emergency responders were dispatched to the area around 8:45 p.m. on October 7 following reports of a single-vehicle crash.

    Upon arrival, they found Kaiwi’s vehicle approximately 100 feet down a cliff near the water’s edge, raising concerns that she may have entered the water.

    Kuhio Highway was temporarily closed for about an hour as crews worked to recover the vehicle.

    Honolulu police search for suspicious vehicle, possibly related to kidnapping

    The search for Kaiwi is ongoing, with support from the Kauai Fire Department and the U.S. Coast Guard.

    Kaiwi is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing around 220 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

    She is of Hawaiian descent.
