University of Hawai’i goalkeeper Kennedy Justin has been named the Big West Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week after recording two shutouts against UC San Diego and UC Irvine.

Justin, a redshirt freshman, has notched five consecutive clean sheets, setting a new program record for the longest shutout streak by a Rainbow Wahine goalkeeper.

Justin made seven saves in a 1-0 victory at UC San Diego on Thursday, followed by three more saves during Sunday’s 0-0 draw at UC Irvine.

Her shutout streak now stands at 453 minutes, dating back to a Sept. 22 match against Hawai’i Pacific.

Justin is the first player in the conference to earn back-to-back Defensive Player of the Week honors this season, and the first from Hawai’i to do so since Alexis Mata in 2017.
