Castaic High School’s “Good Morning Castaic” TV production program swept the awards ceremony with a win in all five categories at the inaugural NextGen MediaMakers Festival on Saturday.

The Castaic High School media program, run by Charles Deuschle, dominated the NextGen Media Makers Festival competition held at the Canyon Country Community Center . The program earned students awards in the categories of Public Service Announcements, Broadcast Show, Feature Story, Short Film, and Silent Film.

The competition , held this year for high school and junior high students, also saw Castaic Middle School’s media program, run by Terry Parent, bring home the most awards in the junior high school division.

Before the awards ceremony, the festival held a “Munch & Mentor Mixer” event that encouraged students to network with industry professionals including representatives from Canon USA, Blackmagic Design, several chapters of IATSE, and other local media.
