The William S. Hart Union High School District Board held a special meeting Tuesday afternoon to discuss the search process for a new Superintendent.

In a special meeting, the board met with the Leadership Associates search firm advisors to discuss the process and parameters in the search for a new Superintendent following Superintendent Mike Kuhlman’s resignation .

The Leadership Associates search firm advisors asked the board what groups the board would like to invite to take a survey on what qualities the community would like to have in a new Superintendent .

The board members expressed slight concern about the growing list of groups to be included so that the survey could be completed efficiently.

“We are a public school district, so it’s important that we include the public,” said Robert Jensen Jr., a board member.

The Leadership Associates search firm advisors also presented different calendar time frames. The board agreed on a moderate timeline with a new Superintendent anticipated to begin in January 2025.

The board suggested to the Leadership Associates search firm advisors the qualities they would like to see in the new Superintendent.

Superintendent Mike Kuhlman is anticipated to leave the district on June 30.
