Once the graduates were finally settled, the pledge of allegiance was given by graduating senior class president, Ava Francis and the national anthem was sung by four graduating seniors .

“To the graduates sitting before me this evening, today marks the momentous occasion in your lives,” said Valencia High School Principal, Dr. Pete M. Getz.

Getz went on to speak on taking the lessons learned on campus and applying them to the real world, embracing challenges, chasing dreams and making a difference in the lives of others.

“As you leave Valencia High School and venture in the unknown, remember that your purpose is only sometimes clear cut. It will probably shape your passions and values but never underestimate the power of perseverance, curiosity and of course self reflection,” Getz said.

It was right after the Viking Torch of Learning was passed down from the Class of 2024 to the Class of 2025 and the flame of inspiration was shown by Rina Hovhannisyan and Cayley Mazer.

Graduating senior Cameron Alexander spoke on taking the lessons that were taught in high school and “ making it happen .”

“My dad use to say there are three things that could happen in life, we can either make it happen, watch it happen, or wonder what the heck happened. Don’t wonder what the heck could happen, especially when Valencia High has set us up for success,” Alexander said.

The evening was accompanied by performances from senior class vocalists who performed “Bigger” by Beyonce.

As the graduates went back to their seats they turned their tassels to signify that they have completed high school as loved ones cheered in the crowd.
