Earthquake Shakes Up Santa Clarita Residents

An earthquake struck Kern County, which was felt throughout southern California, including Santa Clarita, on Tuesday.

Around 9:09 p.m. a 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck about 14 miles northeast of Lamont, California, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

SCV residents reported feeling the jolt from the quake.

No damage from the earthquake was reported in the Santa Clarita Valley.
