Suspect Detained After Deputy-Involved Fight

A deputy-involved fight broke out Thursday afternoon in Valencia with an alleged theft suspect.

Around 2:30 p.m. Thursday, deputies received reports of a woman in her early 20s stealing items from a store near Magic Mountain and McBean Parkways in Valencia, said Deputy Robert Jensen, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

A responding deputy located the female, and a deputy involved fight ensued, according to Jensen.

As of Thursday afternoon, it is unclear what led to the fight.

No major injuries were reported to either the deputy involved or the suspect.
