Firefighters Respond To Newhall Brush Fire

A Santa Clarita brush fire broke out near Newhall Sunday afternoon.

The brush fire, named the Posey Fire, was reported at about 12:38 p.m. near Newhall Avenue and the 14 Freeway , according to initial reports from the Los Angeles County Fire Department .

The southbound 14 Freeway’s No. 2 and No. 3 lanes have been shut down for the duration of the incident.

The fire was eventually knocked down at approximately one-quarter-acre in size.
