Power Outage In Santa Clarita Neighborhood

More than 1,700 customers were without electricity Wednesday afternoon due to an unexpected power outage.

At about 4:42 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, Southern California Edison officials reported a power outage impacting approximately 1,703 customers in Santa Clarita, leaving thousands without electricity in the midst of a heat wave.

Residents from the Circle J neighborhood to the Placerita Canyon neighborhood near 12th Street reported being affected.

The cause of the power outage remains under investigation as of the publication of this article.

Power is expected to be restored to most customers by 11 p.m. Wednesday night, according to the SCE website .
