Texans kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week

HOUSTON ( KIAH ) — Texans kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 5 after his game-winning field goal on Sunday.

Fairbairn kicked a 59-yard field goal with just two seconds left in the game to give Houston a 23-20 over the Buffalo Bills. He was 3-for-3 for his field goals in the game, with two of them coming from 50-plus yards.

Also, Fairbairn became the Texans’ all-time leading scorer with 773 points in his career.

His eight field goals made from at least 50 yards are the most in a single season in franchise history, currently lead the NFL, and are the most in NFL history through the first five games of a season.
