Mail theft suspect from Houston arrested in Sugar Land

SUGAR LAND, Texas (KIAH) — The Sugar Land Police Department (SLPD) is warning residents about the rising trend of mail theft. On October 9, 2024, officers, in coordination with U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) agents, arrested Vinh Tran (below) of Houston for identity and mail theft. Officers discovered tools used to break into mailboxes and stolen personal information from multiple victims, including those outside Sugar Land.

SLPD continues to work with the Postal Inspector’s Office and local authorities to combat mail theft. Residents who have been affected are encouraged to contact the SLPD at 281-275-2020.
