Greater Heights: Houston police investigate suspicious death of woman found with facial trauma

HOUSTON (KIAH) — Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a woman found at 816 Allston Street about 11:30 p.m. on Monday (Oct. 7).

The identity of the woman, 38, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Diaz and A. Ledford reported:

Officers were dispatched to a report of a suicide at the residence at the above address and were told a family member found an adult female unresponsive inside the home.  Paramedics transported the woman to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Hospital staff indicated the female had bruising and apparent trauma to her face.

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is conducting an autopsy to determine the woman’s manner and cause of death.
