HOUSTON ( KIAH ) — A man is charged with murdering his neighbor in southwest Houston on Saturday afternoon.

Michael West, 84, allegedly stabbed Lorencia Lewis, 33, in her apartment on the 5400 block of Braesvalley Drive.

Houston police said officers were called to the home at 2:30 p.m. Saturday by friends of the victim who reported West had pointed a gun at them. A witness reported seeing a man in the victim’s apartment.

By the time officers arrived, Lewis had been stabbed to death.

While at the scene, officers received a call from a man, who turned out to be West, who wanted to turn himself in for questioning. After determining that West was the suspect, charges were filed, and West was arrested and taken to the Harris County Jail.
