HOUSTON (KIAH) — A shooting occurred around midnight at 2255 Eldridge Parkway, prompting a response from the Houston Police Department (HPD). Officers arrived to find a young male victim who had been shot twice. He was transported to the hospital in serious condition.

According to HPD, the incident stemmed from an ongoing dispute between neighbors. The younger man reportedly believed his older neighbor had called the police on him. In response, the younger man went to confront him, forcing his way into the older man’s apartment. The older male then shot the intruder in self-defense. HPD continues to investigate the situation.

Authorities provided a strong statement, emphasizing the need for peaceful conflict resolution to avoid such dangerous situations.
