    Texans DE Will Anderson Jr. named AFC Defensive Player of the Week

    HOUSTON ( KIAH ) — Texans defense end Will Anderson Jr. was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 6 after a three-sack performance against New England.

    Anderson had eight total tackles, including four for loss and a career-high 3.0 sacks for Houston in a 41-21 win over the Patriots on Sunday. The tackles and sacks were tops in the NFL for the week.

    So far in the season, Anderson leads the league with nine tackles for loss and is fifth with 5.5 sacks.

    The honor comes after Texans kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn was named the AFC’s Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 5 for his game-winning field goal against Buffalo.
